They provide excellent services for reputable telecommunications companies like Nokia, Eriksson and Zain.
In a bid to diversify revenue stream, they would like to appoint a Senior Project Manager to lead some of our projects. Working for the Civil engineering & building arm of the construction group of companies (Construction, Dredging, Plan hire, Block making) and reporting to the Head of construction.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the efficient overall management of the assigned project/contracts to comply with contractual terms and conditions. The candidate would be a strong, very competent, highly driven senior manager able to deliver complex civil or building projects within budget and programme.
Job Purpose:
The core function of the Senior Project Manager is the efficient overall management of the assigned project/contracts to comply with contractual terms and conditions, ensuring works are completed within the programme, budget and quality standards expected by the client in a professional and ethical manner adhering to commercial guidelines, established best practice and professional/company standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Onsite responsibility for complex civil or building projects from commencement through to completion.
* Planning, monitoring and control of projects
* Monitoring and managing performance
* Communication and information management including quality and progress monitoring & reporting
* Management of the technical aspects of design, procurement, implementation and close-out in accordance with the programme
* Proactively coordinate all relevant parties of the project from inception to closeout
* Assist in signing off project scopes and consultant appointments
* Facilitate and manage value engineering solutions
* Manage budgets
* Team leadership
* Managing staff, business planning, financial reporting and support in business development.
Qualification and Requirements
* A minimum of good and solid 15 years in the construction industry. With a least 10 years as a Project Manager in the civil engineering & building sectors.
* Must be educated to HND or degree level in a relevant construction subject and have good technical and interpersonal skills.
* The position will require fluent English and a high level of adaptability.
* You will have a high level of technical skills, experience and competency; all of which are required in dealing with clients, professional team and contractors.
* Knowledge of administrating projects during both pre-construction and construction phase is essential including financial and programme control.
* Knowledge of relevant IT systems is required including Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project is also required
* Candidates with overseas and African work experience would have an advantage.
